HELPING HAND RHEA INTERACTS WITH SHAISHAV ORPHANAGE CHILDREN

A 15 year old Rhea Jain visited Shaishav, an orphanage, in Hisar all the way from the United States. She spend her spring break in a foreign country to initiate a project dedicated to helping the children of Shaishav. Her father's side of the family has funded this orphanage for years now, and she "wants to honor their legacy." When asked about her motivations were, she said, "The kids deserve the same opportunities that I have to build a bright future for themselves. Right now, I don't feel that they have this." When they arrived, she toured the facility, taking pictures and videos for a documentary she plans to create. Afterwards, Rhea had the opportunity to ask the children questions about their lives. "What I was most curious to hear was their hopes and dreams. I really want to give them the resources they need to pursue their passions. After all, the world needs more people doing what they love." She whole-heartedly listened to the children discuss their personal interests and their opinions on Shaishav, and continued to interview a staff member to receive more in-depth information. "One of the things that shocked me was the frightening number of adopted children compared to those that remained orphaned."
